Lorphic, 43 Joan Drive, Guilford, CT 06437, United States, builds and hosts websites for small businesses. This explains what information we hold, why we hold it, and how to have it removed. Contact us at info@lorphic.com.

Information about a business we contact

Before you become a customer, we may hold information about your business that is already published publicly — business name, category, address, phone number, website and social profile links — collected from public listings and pages. We use it to build a sample website and to show you what we could do.

This is business contact information, not personal life detail, and we don’t buy or build profiles of individuals. If you would rather we held nothing about your business, email us and we will delete it, including any sample website.

Information about a customer

When you buy a website we hold your email address, the details shown on your site, and a record of your subscription. If your plan includes a domain name, we also hold the registration details required by the domain registrar.

Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us — we never see or store them. We keep only the fact that a payment succeeded.

Messages sent through a website we host

If you are a member of the public filling in a contact form on a business’s website: the name, email address and message you send are stored by us and passed to that business, so they can reply to you. That is the only thing we do with them. We do not use them for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not add you to any list.

We do not store your IP address with your message. To have a message deleted, email us with enough detail to find it.

Cookies

The websites we build for customers set no cookies and carry no advertising or analytics trackers. Nothing follows a visitor around.

Our own application sets a single session cookie, and only for people who log in to manage a site. It exists to keep you signed in and does nothing else.

Companies we rely on

To run the service we pass information to a small number of providers:

WhoWhat for
StripeTaking payment and managing subscriptions
NamecheapRegistering and managing domain names
OpenAIGenerating the text of a website from business information
Unsplash, PexelsStock photography used on generated sites
PlusVibeManaging our email conversations with prospective customers

We do not sell information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep things

Customer records and websites are kept while the subscription is active and for up to a year afterwards, so a site can be restored if you come back. Payment records are kept as long as tax rules require. Contact-form messages are kept for two years unless you ask us to remove one sooner. Information about a business that never became a customer is deleted on request, and otherwise when it is no longer of any use to us.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@lorphic.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we will honour those requests regardless of where you are.

Children

This is a service for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you by email. The date at the top shows when this version was published.
